Civic 911 Addressing

Civic addressing allows properties to be better identified by emergency responders, service providers, and friends.  Displaying a civic number by the approved entrance of your property allows the property to be easily found in a timely manner. Civic signs should be visible when travelling in both directions of a roadway and in all weather conditions. Reflective numbering helps your sign to be seen by others.

If your property does not already have an assigned civic number, one can be assigned by completing the below Civic Address Application form and submitted to the Township Office with payment.  Assignment can take up to six weeks and includes the installation of the civic sign.  Costs to have a civic number assigned and to purchase a replacement sign or post, can be found under our Forms & Fees page.

Road Renaming/Civic Number Reassignment

The Township is currently working with the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville to develop a better addressing system that provides consistency of numbering, not only across the Township of Rideau Lakes, but the County as well. This will ensure that Municipal, County, and Provincial Emergency Services are able to properly find and locate properties in our Township. Those affected will be contacted via regular mail about the proposed changes.
