Rideau Lakes Campaigns reach over a million people

Published: Wednesday, 26 February 2025

Rideau Lakes Economic Development Committee undertook a Digital Content Strategy, and two campaigns were launched, reaching 1,273,891 people in the first two years.

The two campaigns included the Experience Rideau Lakes Campaign, and the Investment Attraction Campaign; projects implemented as part of the Digital Content Strategy adopted by Council in 2021.

The Experience Rideau Lakes campaign, launched in January 2022, will continue to create awareness about things to do in Rideau Lakes. With the intention to inspire people to visit the villages, hamlets and special places in the Township, the campaign will lead people to discover businesses along the way. As an initiative of the Economic Development Committee, the goal is to stimulate activities that support employers and locally owned businesses, in order to maintain jobs and services for the people of Rideau Lakes. Experience Rideau Lakes Campaign results total 848,200 people reached (2022-2024).

The Investment Attraction Campaign was launched in April 2023 to increase awareness of Rideau Lakes in order to attract, retain and expand the business economy. With the Township’s 3-year investment in fibre internet, people that work remotely or people that work from home may find Rideau Lakes an attractive location. Imagery was curated to convey the six key advantages of operating in Rideau Lakes including Quality of Life, Strategic Location, Fibre Connectivity, Affordability, Availability of Services and a Supportive Business Community which we coined, “The Village Effect”. The Investment Attraction Campaign reached 425,691 people (2023-2024).

“The campaign results are phenomenal” remarked Mayor Arie Hoogenboom. “There are over 450 businesses operating in Rideau Lakes, and the Township is actively working to help support and retain these businesses for the benefit of our residents.”

Development of digital content that can be easily shared and referenced throughout the year was created not only to appeal to an audience that are likely to support local business, but to highlight areas of the Township that are positioned for growth.
